Biography

Producer

Dominik Rausch, born and raised in Stuttgart, Germany, began to write and produce short films in 1999. After starting out as a documentary filmmaker, he discovered that it is narrative and commercial filmmaking, where his true strengths are. After reading and learning about the great spirit of American filmmaking, Rausch, then 20, decided to move to Los Angeles in 2007 to acquire his Bachelor of Art in Film and TV Producing at Columbia College Hollywood. He began to work in the industry, eager to learn and know everything about successful producing.

In 2008, his internship as assistant to the producers of the critically acclaimed indie feature “April Showers” lead to many more assistant directing jobs on film, TV, and commercial sets, including Comedy Central. Taking on all positions of assistant directing, Rausch refined his knowledge about film and TV production and decided to set his main focus on becoming a producer. This is where all his passions come together: art, people, and communication.

Dominik met actress/writer Illeana Douglas during the filming of “April Showers”, where they formed a friendship and since worked together on the first season of her innovative and successful web series “Easy to Assemble”. Coordinating production and relations with IKEA, he came on as a producer to season 2. He is excited to be producing and working with Illeana on future projects.

Composer

Dominik Rausch was born and raised in Stuttgart, Germany.  Dominik has been playing piano and performing at concert venues since the tender age of 6.  He composed his first original piece of music at the age of 13.  Dominik has won several awards for his compositions and performances throughout the years.  While in high school, Dominik was selected by committee to take part in several advanced intensive workshops.

These workshops brought together the greatest musical talent of the 20th and 21st Century including Helmut Lachenmann, allowing Dominik the opportunity to exchange ideas with and play his pieces for these great musicians.  One workshop in particular had a huge impact on Dominik’s future, changing it forever.  It was a workshop with film composer Christian Halten, a colleague of the famed composer Hans Zimmer (Pirates of the Careabean, The Dark Knight, Da Vinci Code).

After meeting with Mr. Halten, Dominik made the decision to move to Los Angeles and concentrate on film composition and pursue a career in the film industry.  Since moving to Los Angeles in 2007, Dominik has had the opportunity to compose for several feature and short films.  Including “Junction”, an award winning feature film that has played several domestic and international film festivals.  Very recently, his music for the feature length drama "April Showers" won "Best Score" at the California Independent Film Festival. He gets such joy from watching a movie brought to a whole new level with music.
